Sombr is the stage name of Shane Michael Boose, a New York City singer-songwriter whose sound mixes alt-pop, indie rock and glam-rock influences. He broke through on a wider level in 2025 after several singles took off and quickly established himself as a major emerging artist.

Sombr’s latest album is I Barely Know Her, released in 2025. As of April 13, 2026, it remains his most recent full-length album, while “Homewrecker” is his newer 2026 single.

Among Sombr’s most popular songs are “12 to 12,” “back to friends,” “Homewrecker,” “undressed,” “would’ve been you” and “we never dated,” based on his current Apple Music top songs listing and the songs most associated with his breakout period.

Sombr’s acclaim is already notable. He won an MTV Video Music Award in 2025 for Best Alternative Video for “Back to Friends,” earned multiple VMA nominations and later received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His debut album also reached the top 10 on major sales charts, adding commercial momentum to the critical and industry recognition.
