John Mulaney is an American comedian, writer, actor, and producer. He was born in Chicago and first gained prominence as a writer on the sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2008–2013. He later transitioned into a stand-up career, becoming known for clean yet sharp storytelling, observational humor, and a distinctive stage persona. He has also worked in television and film (including voice-acting) and hosted his own Netflix talk show.

Yes, John Mulaney is actively performing on his John Mulaney: Mister Whatever Tour, which began in 2025 and has been extended deep into 2026 with multiple new dates added across the U.S. and Canada.

John Mulaney's Mister Whatever Tour features special guest appearances from a rotating roster of well-known comedians on select dates. Guests confirmed for various stops include Jon Stewart, Pete Davidson, Martin Short, Fred Armisen, Mike Birbiglia, and Nick Kroll. Guest appearances vary by date and are not guaranteed at every show, so fans should check the details for their specific performance.

On July 11, 2026, John Mulaney performed at Wrigley Field in Chicago, becoming the first comedian in history to headline a stand-up show at the iconic ballpark. The achievement added a landmark moment to the Mister Whatever Tour and underscored Mulaney's standing as one of the biggest names in live comedy today. It is part of a broader pattern of the tour playing increasingly large and unconventional venues throughout 2026.

John Mulaney has released several stand-up specials on Netflix, with his most recent being Baby J, which premiered in 2023 and drew widespread critical acclaim for its candid storytelling about his personal life. Earlier Netflix specials include The Comeback Kid and Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, both of which helped cement his reputation for sharp, narrative-driven comedy. His work also includes the quirky musical variety special John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch, which blended children's television aesthetics with adult humor.

John Mulaney has built a wide-ranging career in television and film beyond stand-up. On the animated side, he voiced Spider-Ham in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Chip in the Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers reboot, and Big Jack Horner in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. He voices Andrew Glouberman in Netflix's animated adult series Big Mouth and co-starred with Nick Kroll in Oh, Hello on Broadway. On the live-action side, he hosted and executive-produced the Netflix talk show Everybody's Live with John Mulaney, starred in the Broadway play All In: Comedy About Love in December 2024, and can next be seen in MADDEN, an upcoming American biographical sports drama for Amazon MGM Studios directed by David O. Russell.

John Mulaney has hosted Saturday Night Live five times, making him one of the show's most frequent recent hosts and a member of the prestigious Five-Timers Club. He first joined SNL as a writer from 2008 to 2013, co-creating the beloved character Stefon with Bill Hader during that run. His hosting stints became known for elaborate Broadway-style musical parodies including Diner Lobster, Bodega Bathroom, Airport Sushi, and Subway Churro, which earned him a devoted following among sketch comedy fans.

In addition to performing on the Mister Whatever Tour through late 2026, John Mulaney has been active across multiple creative fronts. He hosted and executive-produced the Netflix talk show Everybody's Live with John Mulaney, a continuation of his earlier Everybody's in L.A. series from the 2024 Netflix Is A Joke Festival. He also starred in the Broadway play All In: Comedy About Love in December 2024, appearing alongside Fred Armisen, Richard Kind, and Renee Elise Goldsberry. He is also set to appear in MADDEN, a biographical sports drama for Amazon MGM Studios directed by David O. Russell.
