About Trey Anastasio Tickets
Trey Anastasio is an American guitarist, composer and vocalist best known as the frontman and co-founder of the legendary jam band Phish. Born in 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Anastasio developed a passion for music early on, eventually attending the University of Vermont where Phish was formed in 1983. The original lineup—Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman and later Page McConnell—created a unique blend of rock, jazz, funk and progressive improvisation that quickly earned them a devoted following in the college circuit and beyond.
Throughout the 1990s, Phish became one of the most successful touring bands in the U.S., known for their improvisational live shows, ever-changing setlists, and tight-knit fan community. Anastasio’s compositional skills, honed during his time at Goddard College, played a central role in the band’s eclectic sound. He wrote many of the band's most beloved tracks, including "You Enjoy Myself," "Chalk Dust Torture" and "Maze." His creativity extended beyond Phish with various solo projects, including the Trey Anastasio Band (TAB), which allowed him to explore orchestral and funk influences with a rotating lineup of skilled musicians.
In addition to his work with Phish and TAB, Anastasio has collaborated with major artists such as Dave Matthews, Herbie Hancock, and members of the Grateful Dead. A major career highlight came in 2015 when he stepped in for Jerry Garcia during the “Fare Thee Well” Grateful Dead 50th anniversary concerts, receiving widespread acclaim. Over the years, he’s released multiple solo albums, scored orchestral works, and remained a driving force in live improvisational music. His ability to evolve creatively while remaining rooted in the spirit of collaboration and exploration has solidified Trey Anastasio as one of the most influential and respected figures in modern rock and jam music.
