Telecharge Primary Market Tickets Now Available For Purchase
Directly Within SeatGeek Web and Mobile Apps
November 11, 2014 (New York, NY) - SeatGeek, the leading ticket search engine, today announced the launch of a groundbreaking partnership with Telecharge, the leading provider of ticketing services for Broadway, off-Broadway shows and other events nationwide. Through this partnership, box office ticket listings for hundreds of Telecharge ticketed events will be available for purchase via SeatGeek’s ticketing platform.
Telecharge primary ticket inventory will be plotted down to the row level on SeatGeek’s interactive venue maps, and through SeatGeek’s website and mobile app consumers can easily purchase their selected Telecharge tickets. This integration, which encompasses events at over 40 Telecharge venues, is the first time that a primary market seller has integrated ticket options directly into SeatGeek.
“We’re thrilled to launch this new integration with Telecharge,” SeatGeek co-Founder Russ D’Souza said. “Year over year we’ve noticed increasing demand from consumers for Broadway and theatre ticketing options, and this new partnership with the runaway leader in theatre ticketing will open up new avenues for our users to select the best seats and identify great deals on theatre and live performance tickets.”
A unit of Shubert Ticketing, Telecharge is the leader in the $2 billion market for theatre tickets. Telecharge is the primary ticketing source for the Broadway productions of Matilda, Book of Mormon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and The Elephant Man, starring Bradley Cooper, among many other shows and events. With over 60% of SeatGeek’s 5 million monthly users shopping for tickets on a mobile device, this new integration will make it even easier for fans to secure theatre tickets on the go.
“Since we created Telecharge in the early 1980’s we have embraced new technologies as they emerge to offer the best ticket-buying experience possible,” stated Shubert Chairman Philip J. Smith.
“Wide distribution of primary box office theatre tickets is one of our ongoing interests. Connecting our unique technology with SeatGeek web and mobile apps enables more customers to make theatre ticket purchases from our primary inventory,” added Shubert President Robert E. Wankel.
