Matisyahu, born Matthew Paul Miller in 1979, is an American singer, rapper and beatboxer who became known for blending reggae, hip-hop, and rock with Jewish spiritual themes. He rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with his hit single “King Without a Crown,” which broke into the Billboard Top 40 and established him as a unique voice in contemporary music. Throughout his career, Matisyahu has been recognized for his powerful live performances, his improvisational style and his ability to weave together deeply personal and spiritual lyrics with accessible, genre-bending sounds.

His most recent full-length studio album, Matisyahu, was released on March 25, 2022, through Fallen Sparks Records. The project reflected his continued musical evolution, combining reggae with pop, hip-hop and alternative influences. While this remains his latest complete release, he has recently shared new music that points to the next phase of his career. In 2025, Matisyahu announced the forthcoming album Ancient Child, set to be released on October 3, 2025, with its lead single “Rockin Tempos” already giving fans a taste of the sound and direction of his upcoming work.
