It's a love story, and she said yes! Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, the couple announced on Instagram on Tuesday. While their romance has played out like a real-life romcom on international stages and in football stadiums over the past two years, what you might not know is that Kelce initially expressed his interest in Swift via SeatGeek.
During a SeatGeek ad read on Kelce's podcast, "New Heights," Kelce mentioned that he was sad that he couldn't exchange friendship bracelets (and his phone number) with Swift after her tour stop in Kansas City. The clip went viral and caught Swift's attention, and the rest is history.
Swift compared the gesture to a "movie scene," which led her to reach out. When she later appeared on the podcast, she said that the show was her favorite podcast because it got her a boyfriend.
Shoutout to Kelce for using the SeatGeek ad portion of the podcast as his "personal dating app" and fulfilling Swift's dream of something she's "been writing songs about wanting to happen" since she was a teenager.
Congratulations are definitely in order for the happy couple! We can't wait to see our favorite gym teacher and English teacher tie the knot.
