What to expect at Lollapalooza 2026

Grant Park transforms into a 319-acre festival grounds stretching roughly one mile from north to south. Eight stages run simultaneously, from the massive Bud Light and T-Mobile main stages to smaller platforms showcasing breakout artists.

The festival is all ages — kids 8 and under get in free with a ticketed adult. Bags larger than 6" x 9" must be clear and no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", subject to festival policy. Chicago weather in late July can shift quickly, so it’s worth checking official festival guidance before you go.

Beyond the music, Chow Town features curated food vendors from Chicago's restaurant scene, and Kidzapalooza offers a family-friendly area with programming typically running from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT. Official aftershows take place nightly at intimate venues across the city — Metro in Wrigleyville, The Vic Theatre and Thalia Hall in Pilsen are among the usual hosts. Aftershow tickets are sold separately and usually announced a few weeks before the festival.

Getting there is straightforward on public transit. The main entrance is at Michigan Ave and Ida B. Wells Dr., with a north entrance at Columbus Dr. and Monroe St. Arrive early to claim good viewing spots, pack sunscreen and layers and download the Lollapalooza app for real-time schedule updates.
