If you’re anything like me and spend all week looking forward to a Sunday full of NFL action, you’ve probably considered buying season tickets to your favorite football team.
Season tickets are the best way for die-hard football fans to attend as many games as possible over the course of the year. If you’re a Detroit Lions fan who’s interested in purchasing season tickets, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know in order to get your hands on those coveted seats.
Before we get into our guide on how to buy season tickets for the Lions, we thought we’d do a quick rundown of the benefits of having season tickets.
Season tickets are a flat fee per game, so you won’t have to pay extra money for games that have increased importance or higher demand
Season ticket holders are given the first right of refusal for playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public
The league offers a few perks of its own to season ticket holders, including free access to NFL RedZone, a discount at the NFL’s online shop and access to the league’s Ticket Exchange
The Detroit Lions offer their season ticket holders a handful of benefits directly from the team, including an annual season ticket holders summit, a draft party, exclusive training camp dates and “Lionsurance” which allows season ticket holders the ability to be compensated for unused game tickets for up to two games a year
Fortunately for Lions fans, the team is one of just a handful of teams in the National Football League that doesn’t have a waiting list for season tickets which means you can acquire season tickets with relative ease and a quick turnaround.
If you’re looking to secure season tickets for the upcoming 2020 campaign, you can do so by putting a deposit down through the Lions ticket office. This can be done via phone by calling 313-262-22, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or online via Ticketmaster which can be accessed here.
The amount required for a deposit varies based on which seats you desire. Required deposits range from $439 per seat for the upper end zone sections to $1,449 per seat in the club corner. Information regarding the exact price for each seating section can be found here.
After a period in which the team raised the price of season tickets for four consecutive years, the Detroit Lions opted not to increase season ticket prices for the team’s 2019 campaign.
Season tickets range from $439 per seat in the upper deck to $1,949 for lower level tickets for sections abutting the 50-yard line. Club seats range from $1,449 to $2,379 per seat.
A chart containing the cost of a season ticket for each seat at Ford Field can be found here.
Season ticket invoices are sent out by the Lions at some point during February. Tickets are sent digitally through the team’s smartphone application a few weeks before the start of the regular season.
Unlike a growing number of teams around the league, the Detroit Lions do not currently use personal seat licenses, which means that you do not need to pay a one-time fee per seat for the right to own season tickets.
While you won’t find season tickets on SeatGeek, we do have great deals on hundreds of Lions tickets throughout the season. Use code NFL20 at checkout to save $20 off your purchase of $100 or more. Browse tickets here or view upcoming games below.
