Before he became widely known as the gruff, poetry-loving Roy Kent on "Ted Lasso," Brett Goldstein had already built a career in stand-up comedy across the U.K.
The two-time Emmy winner has since expanded into acting, writing and producing. He co-created and executive produced "Shrinking," co-wrote and starred in the romantic drama "All of You" and released his first HBO stand-up special, "The Second Best Night of Your Life."
Now, Goldstein is taking “Sex, Death & Small Talk” across North America this fall.
The 13-date run begins Friday, October 23, 2026, in Madison, Wisconsin, and concludes Sunday, December 6, in Boston.
For fans who discovered Goldstein through "Ted Lasso," "Shrinking," his podcast "Films to Be Buried With" or his recent HBO special, the tour offers a chance to see him back where his career started: onstage with a microphone and plenty to say.
The tour opens in the Midwest before traveling to the Pacific Northwest, Texas and the East Coast.

“Sex, Death & Small Talk” brings Goldstein back to the stand-up format that helped establish his career before his television success.
Goldstein’s comedy often leans into dark humor, candid observations and uncomfortable questions. His podcast, "Films to Be Buried With," offers a useful preview of the conversational side of his comedy, while "The Second Best Night of Your Life" demonstrates how those ideas translate to a full stand-up performance.
Fans who know Goldstein primarily as Roy Kent should expect a different kind of performance. There is no football pitch, writers’ room or ensemble cast to share the focus. The show centers on Goldstein’s storytelling, timing and relationship with the audience.
The tour also takes him into a mix of ornate historic theaters and larger live-event spaces, so the atmosphere may vary from city to city.
The tour begins Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Madison show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Doors and entry times can vary, so check the event details before heading to the venue.
The opening weekend continues with a performance at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb on October 24 and The Chicago Theatre on October 25.
The final announced date is Sunday, December 6, 2026, at Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston.
The “Sex, Death & Small Talk” tour visits a range of theaters and performing arts venues, and seating arrangements are not identical at every stop. Age policies can also differ by date. The Madison performance is listed as ages 15+, while The Anthem in Washington recommends the show for ages 15 and older.
Check the individual venue or SeatGeek listing before purchasing. Age restrictions can affect whether younger fans may attend and whether a valid ID will be required at entry.
