Megadeth is one of the defining bands in thrash metal, known for razor-sharp riffs, politically charged lyrics and the unmistakable voice and guitar work of Dave Mustaine. The band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 after Mustaine’s departure from Metallica, with Megadeth quickly building a reputation for faster, more technical and more aggressive heavy metal.
