About Los Angeles Chargers Playoff Tickets
Most Chargers fans still think of San Diego. Unlike their neighborhood Rams with deep roots, the Los Angeles Chargers played one season in L.A before taking the 1 down to San Diego for five decades.
Los Angeles has always overshadowed San Diego. Add a stacked division, the Las Vegas Raiders / Kansas City Chiefs / Denver Broncos AFC-West, and the average fan doesn’t think much about the Chargers outside of Fantasy Football. Here’s what they’re missing.
One of the Chargers’ greatest periods of playoff success came during the “Air Coryell” era, the offensive scheme developed by former coach Don Coryell. The early 80’s Chargers paired Quarterback Dan Fouts with Tight End Kellen Winslow. In 1981, these Chargers battled in one of the all-time greatest NFL playoff games, “the Epic of Miami.” San Diego and the Miami Dolphins squared off in the 1981-2 AFC Divisional Round. The Chargers came in hot, posting 24-unanswered points in the first quarter alone. But Miami was far from out. A beautiful hook-and-lateral ended the first-half with a Miami TD and a competitive 24-17 score. Miami rode the wave into the second half, until Winslow caught a 25-yard touchdown. Miami came back. Then San Diego tied the game (38-all) with seconds to go thanks to a touchdown pass to James Brooks. Winslow -- who suffered from dehydration, exhaustion, a gash, and a pinched nerve -- blocked a game-tying kick in OT. San Diego won the “Game No One Should Have Lost,” 41-38.
Another highlight is the 1994-5 season. The Chargers won eleven games, upset historic franchises in the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers and competed in Super Bowl XXIX versus the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, they suffered a 49-26 loss.
The Chargers drafted Running Back LaDanian Tomlinson with the fifth-overall pick in 2001. Tomlinson, a five time Pro-Bowler and two-time rushing leader, was also an effective pass-catcher and passer (he threw seven touchdowns in his career). Many cite Tomlinson among the great Chargers ever and the father of the modern running back.

What makes Los Angeles Chargers postseason games special for fans?
Buying Los Angeles Chargers postseason tickets isn’t just about attending another game—it’s about experiencing something bigger. Here’s what makes postseason special compared to the regular season, and why it’s worth securing tickets early:
Higher stakes and intensity: Postseason Chargers games are when every action counts. The pressure is on, the matchups more meaningful, and the atmosphere electric. If you want to see critical plays, clutch moments, and possibly history being made, this is where it happens.
Scarcity and urgency: There are fewer postseason games, and demand shoots up fast. Premium seats fill up quickly. Buying tickets early means better choice in seating, avoiding inflated resale prices, and locking in your spot before the buzz drives them higher.
Exclusive perks and priority: Ticket holders often get extras that regular-season attendees don’t always get: priority access to purchase playoff tickets (especially if you’re a season-ticket or membership holder), exclusive merchandise, special events, themed game nights, or upgraded amenities (parking, entrance, etc.).
Memorable atmosphere and fan energy: The crowd is more invested, the media presence greater, and the tension more palpable. Postseason Chargers games tend to be more electric—fans are louder, anticipation is higher, and the emotional payoff is bigger.
Opportunity to witness defining moments: These are the Los Angeles Chargers fans talk about for years. Comebacks, championships, career highlights—postseason is when legacies are built. If you want to be there for those moments, this is your chance.
Better value in some cases: Even though the tickets might cost more, when balanced against what you get (intensity, perks, memorable experience), many fans find postseason Chargers tickets fetch greater value per dollar compared to regular season games, especially when you consider resale value or experiential payoff.
