AFI (A Fire Inside) is an American rock band formed in Ukiah, California, in 1991. The core lineup includes Davey Havok (vocals), Jade Puget (guitar), Hunter Burgan (bass) and Adam Carson (drums). They began in the hardcore punk scene with early releases like Very Proud of Ya (1996) before evolving through darker, atmospheric rock (The Art of Drowning in 2000), and achieving mainstream success with Sing the Sorrow (2003) and Decemberunderground (2006). Their career spans over three decades and multiple stylistic shifts.

AFI’s latest studio album is Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, released on October 3, 2025. This is their twelfth studio album, blending post-punk and gothic rock elements with a moody, atmospheric sound. It follows their 2021 record Bodies and has been promoted with singles like “Behind the Clock” and “Holy Visions.”
