About Marc Rebillet
Marc Rebillet was born on December 15, 1988, in Dallas, Texas, and trained in classical piano from the age of four until his mid-teens at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. After briefly studying acting at Southern Methodist University, he worked various jobs—including as a server and call-center employee—while producing music under the moniker “leae." His big break came in 2016, when he began live-streaming improvised funk and R&B sessions from his apartment in New York City, using a loop station, keyboard, percussion and vocals. These improvised performances—often featuring quirky lyrics and unexpected humor—quickly went viral on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Reddit and Facebook.
By 2017, Rebillet was drawing booking requests around the world. His first paid gigs came via a weekly residency at a Dallas brewery, followed by nightly performances in dive bars and pop-up shows across New York City. He signed with a booking agency, kicked off several sold-out U.S. and European tours and leveraged his online popularity into in-person success. During the 2020 pandemic, he innovated with a “Quarantine Livestream Tour” that raised tens of thousands for COVID-19 relief and a drive-in concert tour that grossed over $500,000.
Beyond viral fame, Rebillet has released multiple albums and EPs—Marc Rebillet, Europe, Loop Daddy III—and produced under the pseudonym “leae." In 2019, Billboard named him a top emerging dance artist, and Clubbing TV ranked him second among live-stream DJs. He’s also performed at high-profile venues and events—Coachella 2023, Google I/O 2024, a Super Bowl–Sunday TV debut on "After Midnight" and NPR's World Cafe—demonstrating a seamless transition from internet personality to globally recognized live performer
