Most MLS Preseason matches include 90 minutes of play split into two 45‑minute halves, plus halftime and added stoppage time. In total, you can usually expect to spend about two hours at the stadium from kickoff to final whistle, not counting pre‑match arrivals or post‑match celebrations.

Regular‑season MLS Preseason matches typically end after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, even if the score is tied. Certain knockout competitions, such as MLS Cup Playoffs or domestic cups, may use extra time and penalty shootouts if needed to decide a winner, depending on the specific competition rules.

In a standard MLS regular season, MLS Preseason will play 17 home matches along with another 17 on the road.

Yes, many MLS clubs, including MLS Preseason, also compete in other tournaments beyond MLS play. Depending on qualification and country, that can include international competitions like the CONCACAF Champions Cup and Leagues Cup, as well as domestic cups such as the U.S. Open Cup or Canadian Championship.

When these fixtures are scheduled, you’ll typically find tickets listed alongside regular MLS matches on the MLS Preseason page on SeatGeek.

It’s a good idea to arrive at least 45–60 minutes before MLS Preseason matches so you have time to get through security, find your seats, and enjoy pre‑match warm‑ups. For high‑demand games, like rivalry matches or special events, aiming for 60–90 minutes early can help you avoid longer lines at the gates, concessions and restrooms.
