The original production debuted on Broadway in 1987, starring Joan Allen and John Malkovich. The case of the 1987 production won several awards, including the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play (Joan Allen) and the Theatre World Award (Eric Roberts). Burn This ran for over 400 performances in 1987 and has been revived off-Broadway both in the United States and in Sydney, Australia.
