Foo Fighters 2025-2026 Tickets and Tour Information
In October of 1994, former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl found himself without a band to play with and a notebook full of songs he’d written that he knew he needed to record. Offers to join other established heavy rock and grunge bands came pouring in, but Dave decided to follow his gut instead and do what no one would have expected him to do as a drummer. He turned all those offers down, then chose 15 of those secretly penned songs, booked some studio time, and recorded the entire album (except the guitar part on “X-Static”) by himself.
He performed every instrument and every vocal, completing the entire album in just 5 days and distributing it among his friends and family as the band, Foo Fighters. The album, also titled “Foo Fighters”, ended up in the hands of more than one record label, squashing his plans of remaining anonymous and sending him scrambling to form a band to support the album. Incredibly, Foo Fighters made its live public debut by February 1995, an astounding 4 months after Dave Grohl originally recorded the record as a solo project. The band was well-received with Dave Grohl as its frontman, proving that the former drummer turned songwriter was far more talented than he’d ever imagined. The band evolved into the powerhouse they are today, touching fans all over the world with their songs and unique sound.
Foo Fighters has been nominated for more than 90 awards, including more than 25 Grammy Awards. They have won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album 4 times, and in 2018 their song, “Run”, won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. In total, they have won more than 10 Grammy Awards as well as many other awards from various entities in the industry.
